Sefton Samuels is one of Britain’s most iconic photographers.
His career spans more than four decades – with nearly a hundred images held in the National Portrait Gallery and Victoria & Albert Museum.
Sefton has had solo exhibitions at the Barbican Centre, Kings Place and Proud Gallery in central London – and is a Royal Academy of Arts competition winner.
Sefton was described by acclaimed painter LS Lowry as being his favourite photographer. His photos hang in the homes of musical legends Paul Weller and The Stone Roses.
Before turning to photography Sefton worked in mills across the North West and as a professional jazz drummer. He is a fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and still lives in Manchester, England.
His best-selling book Northerners: Portrait of a no-nonsense people has been published by Ebury (Random House).
